FAQs

What happens to my horse after racing?

At Nxt Level we pride ourselves on ensuring a high standard of horse welfare. Not only does this process start when the horse is purchased, it continues even after the horse has retired. If the horse is a gelding, we find the best home for him to continue life in another equestrian field. Fillies and mares will be sold via public auctions as broodmare prospects whilst in regard to colts who retire to stud duties, owners will receive their percentage share of profits that your horse makes or the price of your share from the purchase price of the new owner. Horses sold from Nxt Level Syndication are done so with the guarantee that if the new purchaser doesn’t want the horse or cannot care for the horse at any given time, Viking Racing Farms will take the horse and care for it throughout the duration of its life free of charge.

Can I see the horse before I purchase?

Of course, at Nxt Level we will hold open days at either the spelling property or at the pre-trainers for all perspective buyers to come and view all our new purchases.

Our Nxt Level Horse Selection Process

At Nxt Level Syndication we have a very strict criteria when it comes to horse selection. This is the longest process our company endures, making sure we have viewed every horse and narrowed it down to our top list. David Lucas, Chris Andersen, Andrew Stuart (E-Trakka Creator) and the trainers are all involved in this process from the start to when the hammer falls.

Informative Updates

Being an owner in the Nxt Level family, you will receive updates via e-mail, telephone and your E-Trakka account (if opted). At Nxt Level Syndication we have a Client Liaison Executive who oversees all owners’ updates and is the point of contact for any questions regarding your horse. We believe one of the big joys of racehorse ownership is getting updates that make you feel connected and involved with your horse; to this end you will receive at least one update email every week. When your horse is racing you will receive a more informed update the night before the race which will include acceptances and information on the jockey riding your horse. On the day you will get a pre-race report from either the trainer or stable representative including speed Maps, ratings and race day strategy and afterward post-race statistical data and a written review.

Is my new purchase insured?

At Nxt Level Syndication all our horses are insured from fall of hammer for the period of one year; this date is listed on the PDS for the perspective horse. Owners can decide whether or not they would like to re-insure their share percentage of the horse when the initial period comes to an end. We recommend that owners do re-insure for better security and peace of mind but its 100% every individual’s decision.

Management fees

At Nxt Level Syndication management fees are disclosed on each PDS, these fees cover things as race day events and mounting yard access, stable open days and trainers’ meetings, constant owner’s updates, maintenance of the strict guidelines of regulatory process with the industry body, etc.

Prizemoney

Prizemoney is paid into the nominated bank account of each owner. Prizemoney earnings are tax-free if ownership remains a hobby. The distribution of prizemoney in Australia deducts 10% for the trainer and 5% for the jockey, as well as further small percentages in NSW and Victoria for jockey and equine welfare.

Can I visit my new horse?

At Nxt Level Syndication we want owners, their friends and family to feel welcome to visit their horse at either stable or farm. We will hold selected owners’ days plus if you want to see your horse outside of these events, please contact our office and we will arrange a suitable time.
